Christian Hirth was born on 1974 in Santiago de Chile. Starts studying drums at age 13, later on formalizes his studies in the conservatory of music of Universidad Católica de Chile on different percussion instruments such us vibraphone, marimba, timpani and such.
Us a drummer and percussionist has collaborated with a wide spectrum of artist that range from experimental music to jazz, rock, and pop.
Has participated as a producer, composer and drummer on jazz fusion and experimental rock bands like Mediabanda, Yonhosago, Code, Klaine Trio and AC Trio. And collaborated with various local artists like Subhira, Los Jaivas, among others.
On contemporary percussion has been in concert with Bernhard Wulff, director of the Ensemble Modern (Germany), Mark Ford (United States) and John Wooton (United States).
Us an educator has published 5 books of drums and rhythmics: Independencia en 7/8, Tremolando. Conceptos Básicos" (Basic Concepts) and Rítmica Progresiva.(Progressive Rythm) Vol. I, II, III. All of which are included on the educational program of various institutions. Has realized Workshops around Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Bolivia alongside notorious drummers us Robbie Ameen (Rubén Blades), Marco Minnemann
(Adrian Belew), Gustavo Meli (Argentina), and in different institutions like Universidad Católica de Chile, Escuela Moderna, Sociedad del Derecho de Autor and Universidad de Música de la Serena.
He has worked us a drum teacher in various of this institutions like Instituto Projazz, Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad Uniacc. Us a composer has written a series of works for percussion ensemble
shown for the first time in Chile, Germany, Mexico and Argentina. And has composed music for a number of documentary's, Despierta, Emily and cultural series,Ojo en Tinta.
In 2012 opens his own recording studio, CHT Estudios and the music publisher CHT Musik. In 2016 founded Radical Beat label, oriented in publishing his own musical projects.
In the year 2014 started his solo career and created his own band
called ZET, whose LP vinile release is expected soon.
